Baldur’s Gate 3: World within ungrateful apocalypse

Zaktualizowano: 20 wrz

Contains: Massive Spoilers, (and) sweeties!

Cats are the cutest and soulful characters in the entire world. Hug them with 9 lives!

Alas, with unpleasant thoughts that can shattered mind, there comes the Dead Three Trinity that can rip your bones and blood apart - You can speak that in the wonderful narrator’s voice (Amelia Tyler), and now when I'm writing those words I also complain to not-wonderful fact: where is the personification of the narrator when the voice is so overwhelming that there are no words that can come across from your mouth to describe something that remarkable like the voice of the narrator. I mean actor. Now, you understand my point of view: where’s the identity in the narrator that can be an in-game lore character, but it’s also (yeah) an actor in real word. Chapeau Bas! Chapeau bas to every single actor that played his role in the game. Their voice are just unreliable through the shadow of the mists land of the power of what can be shown... or what can’t.

Perfect voice match!

With those words said I might come to few sentences that can show how D&D seems to me more Americanism politics: At first I could complain about stuff that mind flayers seems to be like those “evil untiamericanish communist” that want to rule the whole world by fetter and bowing the whole world to own rules without the souls, but it seems to be more likely not intentional. I hope it is, but the whole plot seems to me just another empty nostalgia from old D&D stuffs. Perhaps it is what BG3 is, but I just have more attachment to plots that are not evolving ruling the whole world, but only a part of it, but ofc it’s D&D world which mean that there are terrifying creatures and cults and tortured psychedelic maniac super dipper stuffs that want you to suffer. My critique contains the ritual aspect of common classic fantasy fight with greater evil but without a grayness. The only grayness that exist in this game is- if you choose IMO with honor thoughts (I mean you like to be honest and trust others with honest)- the Emperor AKA Balduran the Corrupted, that seems to be free-willed mindflayer without a soul in heart but with a soul in mind. What I can understand, that characters like Orpheus have aggressively attachment to claiming the fact that every single person that looking like mind flayer is in deed just an evil creature. Of course, to have not the soul is rather not comfort but rather we need to understand that if the soul is any type of indication of goodness, it shouldn’t be the perfect match to assess characters that only want to defeat great evil with mind flyers. It’s only my point of view because I've chosen to have a friendship, and have possibility to have a relationship with the Emperor, but jailing Orpheus it seems to me another complex plot that have no positivities in further action when you might become a mindflyer without that guy. Greater good I guess, for me works totally, but I might also be blinded by the words of Emperor. It seems to me that there are very huge stories that Balduran the Corrupted have been told us to trust, and I trust him because he helped us, so we're going to help him also.

Hot but not here naked

He seems to be an employer that lost connection with the grand CEO AKA the Mind flayer Big brain and try things for a good cause. And it works. I’ve got very different variations of the fight with Nether Brain and I losing it, so I choose to sacrifice my whole team (Me- the Dark Urge, Emperor, ShadowHeart, Gale and Karlach) to save the world. I did not enjoy it, but to see the possibility of Gale consuming the crown wasn’t given me an optimism in the mind. To change the variant of possibilities I rather might have changed every single fight before the last battle of the battles and in the future I will do it when I will have time for this, but for now, I relish to attend the ending of the whole game. Yeah, and I still don’t know what happened to Wyll and his future life, because I left him in the camp before the last fight (I defeat Ansur (which was the complex but my favorite fight in the game for me), break the pact with Mizora, but alas killed Wyll father). I really enjoy the cutscene that show us the wither (which seems to be holy saint Jergal (love that god!!)) That disappointed Bhaal, Bane and Myrkul XD May the sadness be with them, because I hate evil gods (but as introduced characters I really like them).

Still less hot than the Emperor

I have a sentiment for every single character, but personally my beloved one is ShadowHeart (at first I didn't want to be involved into her relation with own faith but in the future I've notice how Shar is toxic, so I've made her probably atheist and free her parents as a light bubble :3) and that’s why I have a romance with her. To be fair, I didn’t go to the shop to end a Gale thread because of wibbly-wobbly stuff that happened, which made my characters impossible to go to save Dame Aylin because of the gigantic amount of villains in the shop of Lorroakan. Astatrion left me after we killed Cazador and do not let him get ascended. And as for my character, I killed Orin (later Netherbrain ofc killed Gortash) but refuse to become a Bhaal chosen one which showed me unexpected way because of course Jergal helped me and I reborn as my own destiny without any more evil parents-evil gods plot. Lae'zel never get into my party :C. Other minuses from the game was the fact that I still don’t know what happened to Raphael and his massive plots that could make things in the world of Baldur’s Gate worse. Still, it’s a wonderful game with a grateful characters (Jaheira take offence after I accidentally killed my friendly neighborhood Minsc :C XD and Halsin even bother to help me in Shadow-Cursed Lands) and perfect locations. With that being said, I only want to add that this is a magical game with so many contents and I loved it.

Raph is in the details
